Teacher of the Year Award Program
The Milton Foundation for Education recognizes the extraordinary contributions made by our teachers in the Milton Public Schools. Each year we ask for Teacher of the Year submissions.

To be eligible for nomination, a teacher must:
-Have completed three consecutive years teaching at MPS and currently teach at MPS
-Have not been selected for Teacher of the Year in the past three years.
Nominees must be teachers who meet most of the following criteria:
-Instills in students the desire to learn/achieve at high levels
-Understands the individual needs of students, encourages their talents and fosters their self-esteem
-Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of the subject matter and the ability to share it effectively with students
-Fosters cooperative relationships with colleagues and the community
-Demonstrates outstanding leadership
-Participates in school, professional, civic and/or extracurricular activities
-
Nominators must be one of the following:
-A parent
-A student or former student
-An MPS teacher, administrator or staff
-Town of Milton employee or resident
Please note:
-An individual may nominate only one teacher.
-Teachers may not nominate themselves.
-Nominations received after the deadline will not be considered.
-No material other than that specifically requested will be considered in the selection process.

The Milton Foundation for Education screening committee will review all nomination materials. Ratings and discussion are confidential and will not be disclosed. The MFE, subject to the approval of the Superintendent, will make the final decision and notify the Award recipients.
